Chef Equation™ - Help Us Build It Better!
Coming Soon: Chef Equation™, An App To Make You More Profitable, More Efficient, and Less Stressed.
Hi everyone, Natalie Madison here of Art Is In Cakes.
I'd like to talk a little to all of the Cottage Industry Bakers out there. You know who you are. You work 40 hours a week at a day job. Then you hustle another 20 to 40 hours each week doing your second job with all that baking, cookie decorating, and cake decorating. Or maybe you just jumped ship from your corporate job, and you're spending all of your time and energy turning this dream into reality. Or maybe you're a stay-at-home mom, and this passion and creative drive gives you the ability to build up extra spending cash for the things that you want for you and your family.
Believe me, I know how you feel. It's both exciting and scary. Stressful but fulfilling. So much dichotomy. So many emotions.
My path? I was working a corporate job, and I would spend nights and weekends making cakes and cookies as my side hustle. Then one day, I just decided, "Hey, I want to make this thing full-time" So that's what I did. I jumped shipped. That leap of faith was scary, but I did it, and I know you're going to be successful at it too.
Then came all of the effort of trying to make this business more profitable. Trying to be more efficient. Trying to have less waste. Trying to be less stressed. I have to tell you, those first two years were not a piece of cake (pun intended). But over that time I developed a ton of spreadsheets, documents, and charts that made things a lot easier and helped me thrive in this new environment.
I've decided to take this expertise, all of these charts, all of these documents, and develop an app called Chef Equation™ that provides an automated system to help you become more efficient, more profitable, and to give you more time to do the things you enjoy.
Simultaneously, I'm developing an 8 week course, your BluePrint to Baking Up Profits, to transform your business. (in 8 weeks! Not 2 years!)
As I move forward with this app and course, it's important to me to understand how I can help you the most in YOUR journey. In order to do that, I have a few questions for you. You might need to take a moment to consider these questions carefully before you answer, but I'm pretty sure most of you will immediately know your answers. (I don't know about you, but I'm feeling stressed already just thinking about mine!)
Question 1: What is the biggest stress point in your baking career?
Let's say I had a magic wand, and with a wave of that wand I could remove the biggest stress point in your baking career. What would that major stress point be?
Question 2: What is the biggest time suck in your baking career?
What is your biggest time suck? You know, the one task that takes you forever, and just drains the life from your soul.
For example, one of my biggest time drains was shopping for ingredients more than once. I would cringe when my baker would say, "Are we out of…?" You know what I'm talking about. You're in the middle of baking and you're short just 4 eggs. Now you have to stop what you're doing, get everything together, and make another trip to the grocery store. Or even worse, when you just get back from the grocery store and you find out you needed one more item for a separate order, and now you have to make the trip again.
This was my biggest time suck. Help me understand yours.
Question 3: What task in your baking business would you press an "easy button" to be done with?
If there was one weekly, daily, or even yearly task that you wish would just go away with the hit of an "easy button", what would that task be?
Okay. Are you done? (Hey, no peeking at your neighbor's answers!) Good. Now, I want you to take those answers and send them to info@chefequation.com.
"But I don't want to give you my email address," you might be saying. I understand! That's why, if you Opt-In now between October 4th and October 11th, I'm going to send you my information on "The Do's and Do-nought's of Cottage Food Law in Arkansas". It's packed with all kinds of information and tips on what you can and can't do within your Cottage Business. I'll also keep you up to date on the features and planned launch date of the Chef Equation™ app and the corresponding 8 week course "BluePrint for Baking Up Profits™." (And don't worry, I'll keep your email safely tucked away and not shared with others.)
And I want you to know that your answers will help me develop Chef Equation™ into an app that's going to be better suited to your needs.
So, thank you in advance for your responses and your comments.
If you'd like to watch the development of Chef Equation™ and get updates on its progress, features, and launch date, I invite you to be a part of my journey. I hope you will. Even if the app isn't something you need right now.
Stay in touch and subscribe our newsletter to opt-in to on-going information and respond back to our email with answers to the 3 questions.
